✾ Miltos' Greek Table

Six murals inspired by the Akrotiri excavations, mixed media with acrylic (2025)

Murals

The murals that adorn the restaurant space are contemporary artistic interpretations of archaeological findings from the Bronze Age, discovered during the excavations at Akrotiri on Thera (1967–1973). The original wall paintings date approximately from 1650 to 1600 BCE, shortly before the catastrophic volcanic eruption, and belong to the first phase of the Late Cycladic period.

The five interior murals were created with respect for the original designs, conveying the spirit of the ancient artworks through a modern visual language and offering visitors an immersive connection. From the selection of themes to their execution, the aim was to integrate them harmoniously into the architectural character and purpose of the space.

The ancient artworks were frescoes, painted on fresh lime plaster. The contemporary versions were created using mixed media, primarily with acrylic materials, to ensure faithful and durable representation.

The sixth mural, located in the restaurant’s outdoor area, is a free composition by the artist, inspired by selected elements found in the ancient frescoes.

Finally, the painted composition on the entrance arch draws inspiration from the abstract representation of the natural environment, as seen in ancient iconography.

Artistic approach

Upon entering the restaurant, the visitor is invited into an artistic narrative, a reimagining of an ancient story unfolding room by room within the traditional architecture of a Santorini cave dwelling.

The interior iconography features scenes of striking geology and the presence of volcanic soil, as well as vibrant life from the ancient flora and fauna of the region.

In contrast, the new mural on the balcony of the restaurant’s upper level adopts a lighter approach: a sky that converses with the sea view and the element of air through the movement of myrtle branches. At the same time, it seeks a poetic bridging of time between past and present, embodied by the timeless image of the swallow, which, according to the memory of the place, flew here every spring centuries ago and still appears before the eyes of today’s visitors.

The visitor now becomes part of this new narrative.

ANDRONIS LUXURY SUITES – Miltos’ Greek Table

❊ Rockshe

Sculpture, mixed media – structural materials (2025)

For Miltos’ Greek Table

The sculpture depicts a woman emerging from the rock — or a rock resembling a female form. It plays with the psychological phenomenon of pareidolia, the human tendency and inner creativity to recognize familiar shapes and images within natural structures.

The name Rockshe combines “rock” with “she,” emphasizing the feminine presence born from stone, while the name Roxie means “light” and “radiance,” highlighting the vitality that bathes the sculpture in the light of the Caldera.

The work harmonizes with the physiology and colors of the Caldera landscape, as well as with the aesthetics of the architectural space that houses it. The rocky formations engage in a dialogue with those depicted in the contemporary artistic interpretation of the “Spring Fresco”, inspired by the archaeological find at Akrotiri, displayed inside the restaurant.

Rockshe becomes part of the Caldera itself — like a modern earth nymph, conversing with ancient forms and the eternal spirit of the place.”

✾ Realm

Painting on wood, acrylic – mixed media on wood (2025)

Andronis Boutique Hotel

The painting functions like a luminous window, letting transcendent light into the entirety of the spatial experience, while also serving as a portal into the world of imagination. Mythological references are woven into its visual narrative, highlighting the contrast between the mortal, earthly realm and the celestial, divine, while connecting the viewer to the unique landscape of Santorini.

❊ FONTS Collection

Painting on canvas, acrylic – mixed media (2025)

Andronis Luxury Suites

The “Fonts” collection consists of 17 works. The aesthetic of bold lettering functions as an “contemporary ornamental initial,” introducing the visual narrative of each room.

Here, the “lettering” is geometry, the universal language accompanying human experience since its beginnings.“ Fonts” transcend cultural boundaries, emphasizing their weight as visual symbols and a means of conveying meaning, while the clear shapes that emerge on the painted surface gain visual interest through subtle textures and tones, resulting from the combination of materials.

The black shapes contain stories, revealing landscapes and worlds within abstraction.

✾ Realities Series – "Leibniz"

Collection, velvet paper mounted on canvas (2025)

Andronis Luxury Suites

An ascetic aesthetic of repetition unfolds across this series of 14 diptychs. The perception of reality arises through the dialogue between sparseness and density, where the restraint of Minimalism converges with the complexity of the Baroque.

❊ The Studies Collection

Painting on canvas, acrylic (2023-2024)

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort & Andronis Luxury Suites

The “Studies” collection consists 50 works. It begins with a “study” of an artwork that impressed the artist, although she was not fortunate enough to identify its original creator. This initial inspiration is combined with an earlier series of her own drawings, referencing the urban layout of the archaeological site at Akrotiri, creating a dialogue between the memory of the place, the work of a fellow artist, and the artist’s personal visual narrative.

✾ Summonings

Painting on canvas, acrylic (2023-2024)

Andronis Arcadia

The “Summonings” collection consists of 85 works. Each work is also a summoning of a thought-form. What managed to be captured on the canvas after a fleeting glance elsewhere—beings, structures, and scripts. It explores the line as the origin of existence. From the first mark in the earth, the line signifies the presence of imagination, to the recording of a thought, the summoning of a story. The story of the line is a journey through time.

❊ Lava Line

Painting on canvas, acrylic (2023-2024)

Andronis Arcadia

An intuitive and imaginative depiction of the waters of Thira, inspired by satellite imagery, reveals movement and the interplay of warm and cool water currents within the caldera.

The works were created for Arcadia Hotel, with selected tones and chromatic nuances harmonizing with the exotic atmosphere of the resort.

The “Lava Line” collection consists of 24 works (70×100 cm each). The distinctive feature of this series is that each painting flows into the next, forming a vast pictorial sea. The works are numbered according to their visual affinities, forming a monumental composition of variable dimensions. They may function as individual pieces, as diptychs or triptychs, or be arranged in correspondence with the spatial proportions of the setting.

✾ Ladies

Mixed-Media 3D Murals (2019)

MS Andronis Luxury Hair Salon

The four artworks draw inspiration from Japonism, with aesthetic references to artistic movements such as Art Nouveau and Surrealism. Technically, they represent an imaginative mixed-media approach, combining wallpapers, fabrics, emery paper, and other materials through a blend of painting and collage.

Indicatively:

“Lady of the Frame” is inspired by traditional Japanese art, Art Nouveau, and Surrealism. This mixed-media piece merges painting and collage with tactile materials such as wallpaper, fabric, and emery paper. Sensual and self-aware, she releases herself from the frame, transcending her boundaries and creating her own reality.

“She Urchin” is based on an earlier collage from the Aquatic Menagerie bio-fashion series. Embossed onto the wall, she resembles a human-sized doll. Her surreal form, crowned with a nonhuman head, embodies a sea urchin, She Urchin, a persona, a concept of a woman with infinite potential, extending her essence in every direction. She is dynamic, dangerous, yet alluring, an emblem of feminine duality inspired by the world of fashion. Through the contrasting textures of her dress, she symbolically reveals the full spectrum of female identity.

All four artworks currently adorn the upper floor of MS Andronis Luxury Hair Salon in Agia Paraskevi, Athens.

❊ Vulcan's Dise

Sculpture, mixed media – structural materials (2019)

Andronis Arcadia

The wall-mounted sculpture has a dual nature. On one hand, it reflects the authority and influence of the human artist over nature, transforming the earth into geometric forms. On the other hand, it represents the inevitable “impact” of nature, shaping civilization (cubes) through shockwaves. It is displayed at Pacman Restaurant.

✾ Panspermia

Painting on wood, acrylic (2019)

The “Panspermia” collection features large-scale works, most of which are displayed at Andronis Arcadia in Oia, Santorini, while others are part of private collections.

Panspermia is inspired by nature and its fruits, with a particular focus on the pomegranate. The works explore ideas and feelings that emerge through shadowy shapes, from which our imagination creates worlds full of color, juice, and aromas. The paintings tell stories of abundance, fertility, good luck, wealth, and the cycle of life.

❊ Metamorphosis

Five murals inspired by the idea of tranformation, acrylic (2019)

EveXia Spa, Andronis Arcadia

With the central theme of transformation, the visitor experiences a continuous evolution as they move from one room to the next, following a landscape in transition. The colors shift, reflecting the passage of time; natural elements morph into organic forms, and the entire work is oriented within the space from east to west.

✾ Chess Tales

3D mural, acrylic – structural materials (2019)

For Palivos Grill House

A distinctive artwork inspired by the enchanting worlds of classic fairy tales such as Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland. At its center lies a checkered tablecloth, transformed into a chessboard where the pieces are not just pawns, but roles that shape the culinary experience.

A creative fusion of imagination, aesthetics, and gastronomy, inviting the viewer to a play of art and taste, created for Palivos Grill House in Nea Styra, Evia.

❊ Geometries

Collage – Mixed Media on wood, 2019

Three Works for the Offices of an Agricultural Producer in Thebes.

This series explores the relationship between geometry and organic elements. Geometry highlights human activity on the earth, while organic elements convey a sense of natural presence and movement.

The mixed media technique allows different materials and surfaces to coexist, creating a dialogue between strict forms and free-flowing shapes.
